Molokov Island
Molokov Island in Krasnoyarsk is a historical territory associated with the development of polar aviation in the USSR. In the 1930s, the active development of the North began, and the island was chosen to create the first hydro-aviation base in the USSR, an enterprise that prepared aircraft for the Arctic.
A project to improve the park museum of the development of the North is being implemented on Molokov Island. The concept includes:
– creation of thematic expositions in the open air;
– the establishment of a visitor center with an observation deck;
– development of infrastructure for recreation and sports (bike trails, museum alley, jogging trail, playgrounds).
The transformation of the island into a museum park will preserve the memory of the exploits of the polar pilots and create a new public space for residents and guests of Krasnoyarsk.
