Improvement of the central squares of the city

Large-scale work is underway in Krasnoyarsk to improve key public spaces, including Mira, Krasnaya, Teatralnaya and Predmostnaya squares.

Peace Square

Peace Square is a landmark place in the history of Krasnoyarsk. It was here in 1628 that a detachment of Cossacks led by Andrei Anufrievich Dubensky founded a wooden prison. Krasny Yar is the original settlement from which the city grew. The prison was located at the confluence of the Kacha River with the Yenisei River, on the territory that today occupies Mira Square.

A comprehensive beautification of the square with an emphasis on historical continuity is planned for the 400th anniversary of Krasnoyarsk. The concept involves not just updating the infrastructure, but creating semantic accents reminiscent of the origin of the city.

Key landscaping ideas:

– visual and informational elements referring to the founding of the prison (1628);

– repair of Vinogradovsky Bridge (pedestrian bridge connecting Tatyshev Island with the city center);

– repair of the Arfa Bridge (pedestrian bridge over Karl Marx Street);

– renovation of the square's infrastructure;

– creation of zones for events.

Implementation period: 2026-2028.

Bridgehead Square

A large-scale project to create a multifunctional center for youth "Square of the First" is being implemented on the Bridgehead Square in Krasnoyarsk. The project includes the construction of a Youth Palace, a technical creativity center and landscaping of the surrounding area. The project is supported at the federal level on behalf of Russian President Vladimir Putin.

The main activities of the landscaping project:

– creation of the "Square of Firsts" cluster;

– improvement of the embankment of the Square of Firsts (continuation of Yaryginskaya embankment);

– repair and restoration of murals, putting new murals on the facades of houses along the avenue named after the newspaper "Krasnoyarsk Worker".

The Square of Firsts project will become a key facility for youth development in Krasnoyarsk, combining educational, creative and sports spaces. Its implementation will significantly transform the Bridge Square and the embankment of the Yenisei River, creating a modern public space for the anniversary of the city.

Theater Square

Theater Square is the living artery of the city, its open space for communication and celebration. Large–scale events that bring people together take place here: festivals, concerts, folk festivals - every holiday leaves vivid, unforgettable impressions in the memory of the citizens.

The Theater Square is preparing to host a series of anniversary events that will transform it into a grand open-air stage.

The reconstruction program of the Theater Square included renovation of the Rivers of Siberia fountain, landscaping of Chekhov Square, reconstruction of a group of fountains and landscaping of the square itself.
