Krasnoyarsk received the first batch of natural gas buses for its 400th anniversary.

40 gas-powered buses will start operating in Krasnoyarsk tomorrow. The eco-friendly equipment was delivered in preparation for the 400th anniversary of the city.

The new buses will completely replace the transport on routes No. 12 (left bank) and No. 19 (right bank).

Mikhail Kotyukov, Governor of the Krasnoyarsk Territory, together with Roman Odintsovo, acting head of the city of Krasnoyarsk, made a test trip. The head of the region talked with the drivers and appreciated the comfort for passengers.

This is a more modern model, it runs on natural gas and protects the environment. And it is very important that these buses will start operating on urban routes tomorrow. We will continue the program of updating public transport in the region."

MAZ buses are manufactured in the Republic of Belarus, at the Minsk Automobile Plant. This is the first batch of public transport in Krasnoyarsk that will run on natural gas.

The new transport is equipped with advanced technologies for passenger safety and comfort: the Safe City system, video surveillance, validators, monitors, USB chargers and air conditioners. For passengers with disabilities, there is a tilt system for the bus body and a folding ramp for wheelchairs, as well as a special information alert.

Eco-friendly buses were purchased at the expense of the regional and city budgets.

A total of 150 buses powered by natural gas will enter the routes in the regional center by the end of 2025. A supply of gas-powered fuel has been formed in the city: Mikhail Kotyukov was shown refueling a bus with natural gas on the territory of a motor transport company.
