In 2026, Krasnoyarsk will continue to upgrade public transport

Deputies of the Krasnoyarsk City Council approved the draft program "Provision of passenger transportation by public transport in the city of Krasnoyarsk". The city's budget for the next year provides 3.1 billion rubles for these purposes.

1.1 billion of them are planned to be used for further renovation of the bus fleet. There are also plans to renovate production and technical facilities to accommodate and maintain new vehicles. This work is being carried out in preparation for the 400th anniversary of Krasnoyarsk.

"The project to transfer rolling stock serving urban routes to environmentally friendly gas-powered transport is being implemented on the initiative of the governor of the region. In October, the first batch of buses entered the line. Next year, it is planned to purchase 155 more gas–powered vehicles with the support of the head of the region," said Roman Odintsovo, Acting Mayor of the city. "At the same time, it is necessary to comprehensively improve the operation of public transport so that it becomes more convenient and comfortable for Krasnoyarsk residents, increase the efficiency of the route network, and plan its development taking into account the prospects for the commissioning of the metro tramway."

To achieve this goal, a new route network will be designed for Krasnoyarsk next year. In November of this year, it is planned to conclude a contract with the design organization for conducting research work. Its outcome will be a planning document for regular passenger traffic. The new route network should be developed for all types of urban transport, taking into account the construction of metro tram lines. The study is expected to be completed in 2026.

In addition, the program provides funds for the organization of control over the operation of public transport in the city, including salaries for Krasnoyarsk Transit employees, route dispatching, schedule monitoring, etc. Subsidies are also expected for carriers that operate routes with low passenger traffic.

There are 66 routes in the city: 55 bus (including 5 seasonal), 6 trolleybus, 4 tram and 1 electric bus. Every working day, 826 units of transport enter the routes. On average, they carry about 500,000 passengers per day.
