Plans for renovation of the Theater Square for the 400th anniversary of the city were presented in Krasnoyarsk

The proposals of the designers were discussed at an off-site meeting of the head of Krasnoyarsk, Sergey Vereshchagin, to monitor the implementation of projects to prepare the city for the 400th anniversary.
The event was attended by Deputy of the State Duma of the Russian Federation Alexander Drozdov and Chairman of the City Council of Deputies Natalia Firyulina.
As part of the landscaping, for the comfort of walking and relaxing on the square itself, it is proposed to make 12 canopies from the sun and rain, update street furniture, pedestrian pavement, and arrange parking nearby.
The fountain will remain one of the main dominants of the space. It is proposed to combine the three existing bowls of the object into one rectangular composition. During the daytime, when the jets are turned off, the mirrored surface of the water will reflect the facade of the D.A. Hvorostovsky Opera and Ballet Theater and the sculpture of Apollo. In the evening, the fountain will operate in the light and music show mode with backlight and projection image from the water. This solution will be implemented for the first time in our city.
"Next year, we plan to start updating the upper tier and the light and music fountain on the square, and design documentation is currently being developed. Architects are solving several tasks: it is necessary to streamline walking routes and parking space, make the square more comfortable, a place of attraction for residents," said Sergey Vereshchagin, the head of Krasnoyarsk.
Another key stage of the square's transformation is the restoration of the Rivers of Siberia fountain. The head of Krasnoyarsk was informed that all work should be completed this fall and a test launch should be carried out. The project retains the original idea of architect, Honorary Citizen of Krasnoyarsk Areg Demirkhanov and his co-authors. After the completion of the work, the legendary bronze sculptures will return to their places. The customer is the State Enterprise Center for Transport Logistics, the reconstruction is being carried out with the support of investors.
