We are talking about DSHI No. 3 on Svobodny Avenue. It is named after the founder and first director of the institution, a veteran who went through the entire war, Boris Georgievich Krivoshei.
Major renovation of the school began last year. The contractor performs plastering, strengthens structures, and installs floors.
"During the dismantling work, hidden defects were revealed. Additional design solutions were needed to strengthen the structures, replace the floor, and perform roofing work," said Rustam Kamaev, head of the contractor.
During the renovation period, classes for art school students are held in the premises of other institutions.
"This school has excellent teachers and a leader, and a good atmosphere. If comfort and coziness are added here after the renovation, then it will be great. We are really looking forward to returning to our native building," said Tatiana Zatvornitskaya, the mother of a student at the school.
According to the contractor's representative, 20 to 30 people work at the facility. It is planned to complete the renovation of the school this year.
"It is important for us to implement this project in the Year of Defender of the Fatherland, declared by the President of the Russian Federation, the 80th anniversary of the Great Victory: to put in order the institution that was created and developed by our countryman, a veteran of the Great Patriotic War. This school has many talented graduates and bright teachers, and it will celebrate its 70th anniversary next year," Vladislav Loginov said. – We will also continue other cultural projects. The reconstruction of the Victory Memorial Museum is coming to an end. In preparation for the 400th anniversary of the city, we are designing an art school in Severny, and we will begin construction of the Surikov Center and restoration of the artist's estate museum."
It should be added that this year it is planned to start the installation of a new modular building for the children's art school No. 9 in the Leninsky district. The building, which previously housed the institution, was declared unusable and subject to demolition.
