The Krasnoyarsk Bridges marathon will be held in the regional center for the first time.

It is dedicated to the upcoming 400th anniversary of the city. This year, on September 12, a large-scale race will bring together sports and active lifestyle enthusiasts from different parts of Russia. The launch will take place on Tatyshev Island.

Participants will be offered five routes. The shortest one will be 1,628 meters long. This is not a random number: it was in 1628 that Andrei Dubensky's Cossack detachment founded the Krasny Yar prison on the banks of the Yenisei. 398 people will take part in the race, which is exactly how old Krasnoyarsk turned this year. This is how the numbers turn into a story, and the race into a living touch to the roots.

The 3 and 5 km distances are waiting for amateurs and beginners. Experienced runners will test themselves on ten kilometers. The main test is the 42.2 km marathon. The athletes will have 6 hours to reach the finish line. The race will symbolically unite 6 Krasnoyarsk bridges: Oktyabrsky, Vinogradovsky, Arfa, Kommunalny, Zheleznodorozhny and Nikolaevsky. Participants will enjoy not just a marathon race, but a real journey through the history of the city.

They will see iconic places: the Philharmonic Hall, the Mira Square Museum Center, the St. Nicholas steamship Museum, the river station, the Museum of local lore, the Yenisei River Shipping Company, the Opera and Ballet Theater, the administration and the famous city clock.

It will give residents the opportunity to run through the pages of history, feeling the breath of their native streets, and will open the best city on Earth to the guests. We invite everyone to participate!" said Alexander Kaminsky, Head of the Main Department for Physical Culture, Sports and Tourism.

During the sports festival, interactive platforms from the event's partners will be presented, and creative performances by cover bands will take place.

Each participant will receive a souvenir package. The finishers will be awarded commemorative souvenir medals with the symbols of the 400th anniversary of the city.
