Inclusive bus tours launched in Krasnoyarsk

The city's Tourist Information Center, together with the NGO "Step by Step to the Dream," has begun work on adapting sightseeing routes for people with limited mobility.

The day before, the first test bus tour for people with disabilities took place. The route chosen is a classic sightseeing one. It includes a visit to the embankment named after H.M. Sovmen, Pokrovsky Park and Cosmonauts Square. Inclusive bus tours will be available year-round twice a month.

It should be noted that currently 10 tourist routes have been approved: 6 bus and 4 pedestrian routes For people with disabilities, one bus and two pedestrian routes have been adapted. But active work is underway in this direction. By the 400th anniversary of the city, all routes will be revised to meet the needs of people with limited mobility.

Specialized transport opens new directions for the development of inclusive tourism in Krasnoyarsk. The city administration has purchased two minibuses for transporting passengers with disabilities. The cars are branded in the Krasnoyarsk-400 color scheme and are designed for seven passengers each. Of these, there are 2 places for people with limited mobility.

"In preparation for the 400th anniversary of the city, the development of inclusive tourism is a priority. And specialized transport is a real step towards equality of opportunity. It is important for us that tourists of all categories feel comfortable in Krasnoyarsk," says Anna Shvetsova, Deputy Head of the Main Department for Physical Culture, Sports and Tourism.

In addition to bus tours, two walking routes along the left and right banks have already been launched as part of the project. The left–bank route runs along the embankment of the Kacha River from Paris Commune Street to the Siberian Institute of Arts, and the right-bank route runs from the embankment named after H.M. Sovmen through the park named after May 1 and the House of Cultural Initiatives and ends in the Youth Square. Inclusive walking tours are held regularly throughout the warm season – twice a month from May to September.
