Krasnoyarsk is one of the few cities in the eastern part of Russia with rich artistic traditions. The name of Vasily Surikov and his creative legacy, as well as the preserved manor complex – the ancestral home of the great Russian artist – are rightfully considered the hallmark of the city.
For the long-term development of the museum, it is planned to create a new cultural and tourist center, which will become a modern transformable exhibition space, a reliable repository of the museum's collection, and a platform for the implementation of various educational programs.
The two‑storey Surikov Center will be located behind the V. I. Surikov Museum‑estate on Lenin Street. It will include:
– exhibition hall;
– lecture hall;
– library (media room);
– art workshop;
– museum cafe with access to the terrace;
– a storage facility;
– domestic premises.
