This is the first batch of seedlings of the main Siberian tree, which was planted in the park. The plans are to form a cedar alley. In total, 400 cedar trees are planned to be planted in this popular public space by the anniversary of the city.
The idea of creating a living alley belongs to a group of active residents of the house at 17 Vesna Street.
"It is very good that our initiative has received support. We are very pleased that there is such a park here, and we are ready to help make it even better with our own hands," said Gennady Morgun, Chairman of "Airport" Housing Association.
Seven-year-old cedars were brought from Lesosibirsk. Today, residents took part in the planting of green spaces together with the investor "KAN" LLC and the staff of Krasgorpark, which serves the public space. Artem Rechitsky, deputy of the Krasnoyarsk City Council and director of the autonomous non-profit environmental organization "Green Squad", supported the initiative and also took part in the planting of seedlings together with residents.
"The first 30 trees are just the beginning of the creation of the cedar alley for the anniversary of the city. Let's see how they take root, and next year we will continue work on filling the park with high–quality green spaces," said Artem Rechitsky.
Currently, the first stage of landscaping is being completed in the park: paving stones have been updated, networks have been laid, lamps and video surveillance cameras have been installed. Work remains on the placement of benches and urns, as well as the installation of the stage.
"The park is very popular among Krasnoyarsk residents. There is a goal to make it a green island in the middle of the metropolis: lots of trees, an artificial pond, pedestrian alleys, and so on," says Eduard Vekkesser, director of UIA "Krasgorpark", which serves the public space.
Next year, the transformation of the park will continue, including in terms of landscaping.
