Michael Fyodorovich Reshetnev

Born on November 10, 1924, village of Barmashovo, Odessa region - January 26, 1996, Zheleznogorsk, Krasnoyarsk Territory.

In 1950 he graduated from the Moscow Aviation Institute. From 1950 to 1959, he worked as an engineer, lead designer, and Deputy Chief Designer for S. P. Korolev at the Special Design Bureau No. 1 of the USSR Ministry of Defense Industry in Kaliningrad, Moscow Region. Since 1959, he has been the head and chief designer of the branch of the Special Design Bureau No. 1 in Krasnoyarsk (the branch was transformed: in 1961 into the Special Design Bureau No. 10, in 1966 into the Design Bureau of Applied Mechanics of the Ministry of General Mechanical Engineering of the USSR, in 1977 into the Scientific and Production Association of Applied Mechanics).

Since 1967, he has been a lecturer at the branch of the Krasnoyarsk State Polytechnic Institute, since 1989 - Head of the Department of Mechanics and Control Processes at Krasnoyarsk State University.

M. F. Reshetnev owns more than 200 scientific papers and inventions. Mikhail Fedorovich was awarded the Order of Merit for the Fatherland, III degree (1994), three Orders of Lenin (1966, 1971, 1974), the Order of the Red Banner of Labor (1961), the Order of the Badge of Honor (1956), and medals for Victory over Germany in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945. "For valiant labor in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945", commemorative military medals. M. F. Reshetnev is a laureate of the Lenin Prize of the USSR (1980), the State Prize of the Russian Federation (1996). He was awarded the S. P. Korolev Gold Medal of the USSR Academy of Sciences (1985), and was awarded the title Hero of Socialist Labor (1974). Honorary citizen of Krasnoyarsk-26.

The Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences has established the M. F. Reshetnev Prize for young scientists, and the Russian Federation of Cosmonautics has established the "Academician M. F. Reshetnev Medal". Since 1996, the Siberian Aerospace Academy (now the Siberian State University of Science and Technology) and the Scientific and Production Association of Applied Mechanics have been named after Academician M. F. Reshetnev. A street and one of the squares of Zheleznogorsk, Lyceum No. 102 and minor planet No. 7046 Reshetnev (1977 QG2), discovered in 2000 by an astronomer from the Crimean Astrophysical Observatory N. S. Chernykh, are named after him. Since 1997, scientific conferences "Reshetnev readings" have been held in Krasnoyarsk and Zheleznogorsk. The Museum of M. F. Reshetnev operates in Zheleznogorsk.
