Monument to Andrey Pozdeev

First of all, Krasnoyarsk is known for its talented natives, who have glorified not only their hometown, but also the whole of Siberia. One of them is the talented Siberian artist Andrey Pozdeev, in whose honor a monument was erected on Mira Avenue in 2000. The authors of the project were architect Mikhail Merkulov and sculptor Yuri Zlotya. Yuri, in turn, was personally acquainted with the artist, so the monument turned out to be surprisingly "alive" – the sculpture seems to convey the character of Andrei Pozdeev.
Since the monument to Andrei Pozdeev is located next to the Pedagogical University, superstitious students have come up with their own permanent tradition: if you rub Andrei Pozdeev's nose, the session will definitely be successfully completed.

Monument to cats
The bronze cats settled in Krasnoyarsk in 2003. According to the custom, if you try to throw a coin into the ring attached at the bottom of the ledge where the cats are sitting, then luck will come. Monument to Viktor Astafyev
A monument to Viktor Petrovich Astafyev, an outstanding Siberian writer who was born in the village of Ovsyanka, is installed on the Yenisei Embankment in Krasnoyarsk at 1 Mira Square. "Not a day without a line!" was his motto. Monument to Vasily Surikov
It is no coincidence that the monument to our countryman, the world-famous painter Vasily Ivanovich Surikov, was erected between the Pokrovsky Cathedral and the Artist's House. The famous artist often visited the Holy Protection Cathedral. Surikov was born in Krasnoyarsk in 1848. The life of the Siberian countryside strongly influenced his work. Monument to Ivan Yarygin
Ivan Sergeyevich Yarygin is a true legend of sports: during his career, he became a two–time Olympic champion in freestyle wrestling, a seven-time winner of the USSR championships, a three-time winner of gold and a two-time winner of silver at the European Championships, as well as the 1973 world champion. The 4-meter bronze statue of Ivan Yarygin, who is an honorary citizen of Krasnoyarsk, is mounted on a granite pedestal in front of the entrance to the city Sports Palace of the same name. The monument was made in St. Petersburg by the sculptor Vladimir Usov. The opening ceremony of the monument in the spring of 2002 was attended by representatives of the Moscow government, Governor of the Krasnoyarsk Territory Alexander Lebed, Chairman of the Russian Olympic Committee Leonid Tyagachev, as well as the widow and brother of the Olympic champion.
