Lyubov Sakharova, Head of the Main Department of Culture, presented to the deputies of the Krasnoyarsk City Council the draft municipal program "Development of Culture in the city of Krasnoyarsk" for 2027 and the planning period 2028-2029. In total, it provides for more than 11 billion rubles for a three–year period, including more than 4.5 billion rubles for 2027. According to the head of the Main Department of Culture, these are unprecedented funds for the industry.
Some of them are planned to be used for the restoration of cultural heritage sites, some for the construction of new complexes and the improvement of public spaces serviced by Krasgorpark, a subordinate institution of the Main Department of Culture.
In particular, the renovation of the 400th Anniversary of Krasnoyarsk Park, Cosmonauts Square and the Central Embankment (from the Communal Bridge to the Central Park) will continue. Work began there this year. The Peace Square will also be transformed. Its landscaping is scheduled to begin in 2027.
Next year, work will continue on the renovation of iconic cultural sites for the 400th anniversary of the city. Over 1.2 billion rubles have been allocated for these purposes. The construction of the unique cultural space "Surikov Center" will continue. Finishing will soon begin inside the building, and landscaping is underway outside. In parallel, the restoration of the great artist's native home, the Museum–Estate of V.I. Surikov and the House of the Priest, began. Work at all key facilities is under the control of the head of Krasnoyarsk Sergey Vereshchagin. The opening of the landmark institutions is planned for the jubilee year, 2028.
Next year, they will continue to bring the library to a single modern standard. There are plans to continue work on raising funds from higher budgets for the modernization of children's libraries named after him. Valentina Kaverina and Alexander Green. In addition, in 2027, 14.5 million rubles are provided for the purchase of new books — the funds will receive at least 16.8 thousand new publications for adults and children.
In 2027, it is planned to allocate more than a billion rubles for the development of 19 institutions of additional education in the field of culture – art, music, and art schools.
"Krasnoyarsk is preparing for its anniversary, and we want more modern, comfortable, and safe spaces to appear in the city every year. Mira Square, the embankment, and parks are not just points on the map, but places where urban traditions are born, generations meet, and culture lives. We are building new cultural spaces and repairing existing ones, modernizing libraries and replenishing their funds so that children and adults have opportunities for creativity," said Lyubov Sakharova, head of the Main Department of Culture.
