In addition to carrying out restoration work to preserve the cultural heritage site of federal significance "The House where Vasily Ivanovich Surikov was born in 1848 and lived until 1868", the contractor will have to restore two cultural heritage sites of local significance. This is an outbuilding and a fence with gates of the estate of the great artist. The winner of the bidding was LLC Design and Construction Company "RENOVA". The total cost of the entire complex of works at the three facilities is 106 million 667 thousand rubles. The restoration of cultural heritage sites will take place as part of the city's preparations for the 400th anniversary.
The V.I. Surikov Estate Museum is housed in a wooden house built by the artist's father in the 1830s. On the ground floor of the house are the Surikov living rooms, in which you can see authentic objects of that time: clothes, dishes, household items. The largest room on the second floor is occupied by the artist's studio, where his paintings are on display. Other rooms contain the artist's personal belongings, his letters, and rare photographs.
The contractor will carry out comprehensive repair and restoration work to preserve the historical appearance of the main building in the mid-19th – early 20th century and adapt it for modern use. The plan includes repairing engineering systems, performing interior finishing work, restoring the facade of the building, installing automatic fire and burglar alarms, and restoring landscaping, including landscaping.
A fence with a gate also needs to be put in order. They were recreated in 1977-1978 and repeat the original look. After the restoration, it will be the main entrance to the Surikov Center from Lenin Street. There will be another additional gate in the courtyard on the north side of the estate. It should be noted that the stone firewall (a blind fire wall), which is part of a wooden fence, is of historical value.
Repair and restoration work will also be carried out in the wing. It was built in 1900 by the artist's brother Alexander Surikov. It is a one-story wooden building that fits seamlessly into the ensemble of the Cossack manor. After the restoration work is completed, it is planned to open a children's cultural center in the building.
The contractor will have to complete the work by December 2027.
"The contractor has been identified, the contract has been signed. Preparatory activities are underway now. We expect to open the entire complex dedicated to the memory of our countryman in the year of his 180th birthday - in January 2028," said Sergey Vereshchagin, the head of Krasnoyarsk.
