Modernization of one of the most popular walking spaces on the left bank is underway in preparation for the 400th anniversary of the city. The contractor, LLC Sportstroymontazh, plans to enter the landscaping of the Central Embankment tomorrow, July 1. The work on the transformation of the facility will last 2 years.
This year, they will affect a 2.5–kilometer stretch from the Communal Bridge to the Yenisei Gallery. The contractor will update the road surface and replace outdated lighting fixtures with modern ones. Outdoor furniture, playgrounds and green spaces will be preserved.
According to Yulia Kotovich, deputy director of UIA Krasgorpark, the walking area will acquire a well–thought–out structure: different surfaces - paving stones and asphalt - will visually separate the pedestrian part and the bike path, markings and road signs will appear. A convenient ramp will be organized to the pedestrian zone of the lower tier, which meets all standards. Currently, an inconvenient concrete structure serves as a descent.
"The central embankment is one of the main urban spaces, a place of events where Krasnoyarsk residents relax and spend time, and where we meet our guests. Therefore, the monitoring of compliance with the work schedule should be maximum. Renovation of the embankment is necessary not only for the comfort of walking and sports, but also to increase safety," said Sergey Vereshchagin, the head of Krasnoyarsk.
During the work, the territory will be fenced off in stages so that citizens always have the opportunity to walk along the Yenisei. On July 1, passage will be restricted on the embankment section from Kommunalny Bridge to Surikov Street. After completion of the work, the contractor will move to the next section – to the building at 1i Dubrovinsky St. (Rossiya National Center).
The same company will carry out the second stage of landscaping of the Central Embankment – the section from the sports ground at building No. 45a/1 on Dubrovinsky St. to the Communal Bridge. Work will begin in April 2027. Worn asphalt pavement will be dismantled there, paving stones will be laid on footpaths and asphalt on bicycles. More than 70 LED lights will be replaced, decorative lighting and intelligent lighting control will be organized.
Special attention will be paid to playgrounds: more than 40 units of new small architectural forms will appear instead of the old ones. Wooden and metal structures will be renovated, stairs and railings will be repaired, and concrete descents will be reinforced. A lawn will be laid on the plots with a total area of 5.5 thousand square meters.
