The beautification of the Central Embankment will take place in two stages. Modernization of one of the most popular recreational spaces on the left bank is underway in preparation for the 400th anniversary of the city. The landscaping concept, developed taking into account the historical context and modern standards, involves a comprehensive renovation of the space.
This year, a 2.5 km section of the Central Embankment will be transformed – from the Communal Bridge to the Yenisei Gallery.
The contractor will have to install modern outdoor lighting and a video surveillance system, remove wires underground, repair and strengthen staircases to the lower terrace, equip a ramp, and restore a retaining wall.
Sidewalks and bike paths need to be paved and marked accordingly. According to the project, it is planned to separate the flows of pedestrians and cyclists so that walking along the Central Embankment is safe.
The initial maximum contract price is 49.9 million rubles. Work should begin immediately after the conclusion of the contract, and it is planned to complete them in the fall of 2026.
In addition, a contractor has already been identified to improve the section of the Central Embankment from the existing sports ground at house No. 45a/1 on Dubrovinsky St. to the Communal Bridge. The work is scheduled for 2027.
The contractor, LLC Sportstroymontazh, will start work in April next year. The worn-out asphalt surface will be dismantled, replaced by paving stones and new asphalt concrete paths. Concrete side stones will also be replaced. More than 70 modern LED lights will be installed instead of outdated supports. Decorative lighting and intelligent lighting control will appear.
Equipment will be completely replaced at several sites. In total, more than 40 units of new small architectural forms will be installed. Wooden and metal products will be put in order: boardwalks will be replaced, stair railings and stair grilles will be repaired. Concrete staircases and steps will be reinforced and restored. In addition, a lawn will be built on plots with a total area of 5.5 thousand square meters.
