​​Molded vessels, animal bones and bullets found in Tatyshev Park

The artifacts were found at the site of the future landscaping of the island during excavations. Archaeologists have identified several sites that may be of scientific interest. These zones contain from one to two cultural layers. They indicate a long period of human activity in the area.

For example, molded clay vessels were found in the northeastern and southwestern parts of Tatyshev. They were located at a depth of 10 to 98 cm. Presumably, they are 2-3 thousand years old. The artifacts are currently in storage. The corresponding report has been submitted to the Service for the State Protection of Cultural Heritage Sites of the Krasnoyarsk Territory.

Scientists named the places of finds: "Krasnoyarsk. Tatyshev Island-3 parking lot and Krasnoyarsk. Tatyshev Island parking lot-4".

The specialists also conducted additional excavations at the already well-known archaeological site "Tatyshev Island Settlement-2". He has been known to scientists since the 30s of the last century. This time, fragments of earthenware tableware, animal bones, lead bullets, and forged nails were found there.

It should be recalled that the task of developing Tatyshev Island by the 400th anniversary of Krasnoyarsk was set for the city by Governor Mikhail Kotyukov. Landscaping will affect to a greater extent the eastern side of Tatyshev. The main object will be an all-terrain bike bridge. It should connect the public space with Yakutskaya Street. The park will have a new entrance group, observation decks, entertainment and sports facilities.

Excavations on the territory of Tatyshev Park have been completed. A total of 74 pits with a total area of 158 m2 were made on the island. These are vertical excavations of the soil, which make it possible to determine whether there are valuable archaeological sites on the site.

"We assumed that at the exploration stage we might encounter the discovery of artifacts. It is necessary to preserve these finds, as they are of cultural value. We will have to find a contractor to develop scientific and design documentation that will allow us to assess the impact of construction on archaeological heritage sites. If necessary, the archaeologists will transfer the finds to the museum fund," said Mikhail Kovtunov, Director of UIA Tatyshev Park.
