Landscaping projects will be developed for Theater Square and Mira Square.

Lyubov Sakharova, Head of the Main Department of Culture, presented to the deputies of the Krasnoyarsk City Council the draft municipal program "Development of Culture in the city of Krasnoyarsk" for 2026 and the planning period 2027-2028. In total, it provides for more than 10 billion rubles for a three–year period, including almost 4 billion rubles for 2026. This is the first time such a volume of financing has been provided. First of all, this is due to the fact that part of the funds is planned to be used for the improvement and reconstruction of public spaces serviced by Krasgorpark, a subordinate institution of the Main Department of Culture.

So, next year, a lot of work will begin on designing the renovation of iconic public spaces for the 400th anniversary of the city. There are plans to develop design estimates for the improvement of Mira Square and Theater Square, including the modernization of the light and music fountain. Head of the Main Department of Culture

In addition, it is planned to modernize previously landscaped spaces. The development of design and estimate documentation for the improvement of the Central Embankment on the section from the Communal Bridge to the Yenisei Gallery will begin, followed by work. Yaryginskaya embankment will also be improved. Work will also be carried out in the Enthusiasts' Square, where a dog-walking area will appear. The Cosmonauts' Square was also included in the improvement list.

Next year, the restoration of the cultural heritage site of regional significance "Priest's House, 1910" is to begin. The monument of wooden architecture now houses the children's music school No. 5.

The construction of the Surikov Center will also continue. Repair and restoration works of the Vasily Surikov Museum-Estate will also begin. Currently, the scientific design and estimate documentation of an object of cultural heritage of federal significance is under state examination.

In 2026, construction will begin on a module for the children's art school No. 9 in the Cheryomushki microdistrict. The building will be built on the site of an emergency school that was demolished. Bidding is currently underway to find a contractor.  

It is planned to continue work on raising funds from higher budgets for the renovation of city libraries. The S. Marshak children's libraries (Komsomolsky Ave., 15) and Lukomorye (Dictatorship of the Proletariat str., 40a) are in the line of modernization. As a result, out of 44 municipal libraries, 29 institutions will be upgraded according to a single standard.

"We will continue to equip our adult and children's libraries with new books. We will not ignore our music and art schools, and we will continue to improve the quality of additional education services. It is also important to note that when forming the municipal program, the expenses of the Culture industry for 2026-2028 were taken into account in connection with the annexation of new territories to the city – we will start working with institutions of the Berezovsky and Yemelyanovsky districts," said Lyubov Sakharova, head of the Main Department of Culture.
