A contractor has been identified for the construction of the Surikov Center

The day before, the Capital Construction Department signed a municipal contract for the construction of the Surikov Center cultural space with the winning bidder, LLC Pskov Kraspromstroy. The contract value is 401 million 114 thousand rubles. The unique cultural space will become a landmark facility built for the 400th anniversary of Krasnoyarsk. The company will have to complete the construction in 2027.

The contractor must build a two-storey building with a basement. According to the project, a foyer, a temporary exhibition hall, a closed storage facility, a printing house, a cloakroom and technical rooms will be located underground. On the ground floor there will be an exhibition hall of the main exposition, a lobby and offices of employees, and on the second floor there will be a terrace, a cafe, a library and a media room, a hall, a lecture hall and a workshop.

According to the terms of the contract, the contractor will start work on the underground project on August 1. This date was chosen on purpose, as archaeological excavations had previously been carried out on the territory, and we had to provide for various scenarios. The specialists have already completed their research. In July, the contractor will begin delivering everything necessary for the construction site and excavation work, so we expect active construction to begin in early August," said Sergey Shikunov, Deputy mayor and head of the Urban Planning Department.

The Surikov Center will be built behind the Vasily Surikov Museum-estate, next to house No. 73 on Markovsky St. The developers used Vasily Surikov's chest, where the artist kept his sketches, as the basis for the architectural and artistic solution. Aluminum cassettes, straight and convex, will be used for the decorative facade, they will alternate in a staggered pattern and have a different slope. This will give the facade the effect of colored strokes. The object will be a gift for the 180th anniversary of the great painter and the 400th anniversary of the city.
